such a pain in the behind.

"you really only have a few friends that are worth keeping in touch with"-TKL.
.
i realized i have over five hundred friends on fb,
around 10% people that i actually know and keep in touch with,
roughly 20-30% of people which i recognize their faces,
10% people that i once had shared something in common with, but were never close with,
10% i never talk to, but both parties acknowledge each other's existence and therefor decided to add each other on fb,
and the rest are the people that i never knew, never heard of, has silly fake names that i never heard of, and have no idea how did they ended up in my friends list.
.
which, indirectly, tells me that i don't have that many friends,
and that i should go out more often,
do more things,
and know more people...
people that may add-on to the 10% of people that i once shared something in common with but were never close to.
because i'm such a dumb mannequin of a person.
.
my recent encounters with other people(known or unknown) tells me that i should grow up
and learn about politics, taxes, insurances, pregnancies, marriage, travel et cetera.
after all, i'll need to handle my own life eventually.
keeping up to date with all those things could make me less dumb(as in mute) in conversations....
problem is i don't care about all these just yet.
.
why do i have to learn so many things that real adults meddle with,
when i'm not even at the stage where i can put it to good use?
who am i going to talk about these stuff with? my parents??
heck, they don't even talk about those things at home,
unless there's some problem that came up that has affected our lives.
.
i understand that it's something that i ought to know as i'm growing up,
i just don't understand why are we in such a rush to plan ahead of ourselves,
as if we're already behind in our "growth schedule"(so to speak) the moment we set foot into school.
doesn't matter what kind of school i'm talking about.
.
that's another thing about growing up faster that we should.
i can never find logic in those parents that put their children in advance tuition classes that teaches them things beyond their years+outside of their school syllabus.
wtf man, why on earth do you think a form1 student need to learn to solve form5 add-math questions?
form1 school exams got add-math questions meh???
considering the fact that they barely even know how to use the scientific calculators yet...
in my opinion, if you want your child to be so much more knowledgeable than all the other kids at his/her age,
home-school him/her la,
then send your child off to some other proper school, where he/she can really compete with other children of similar capabilities.
educate them properly, teach them about healthy competition, build-up some REAL confidence and send them off to somewhere they can make good use of their knowledge and build a good reputation for themselves, and your family as well.
don't keep them down by putting them against some of the less privileged children in our school,
you can't impress anyone by that way.
