it rained today.

almost as if the Gods(if there is any) knew and feel the disappointment of many Malaysians.
.
okay, i regret for not registering as a voter.
i see how important this is as a citizen now,
but i also see how powerless we actually are even if every single one of us exercise our rights.
.
can we win?
are the odds on our side?
.
it's not like i don't have faith in the opposition,
nor still believe in the governing party.
like it or not, no matter what side you're on,
it always comes down to how the system works.
.
rules are made to be broken,
yes, i've heard of that.
the question is, broken by who?
because we sure as hell can't afford to break them ourselves.
.
fair.
fair is a subjective word.
i'm not going to beat around the bush here.
fair has two (or maybe more) meanings in this country.
even different party defines it differently.
.
to me, it means a clean and just system of doing things.
there can be some bias, but not to an unacceptable point where a certain group of citizens are discriminated and denied to things they are eligible to be given,
while pampering and protecting the other party who has the privilege to enjoy the luxuries simply they are born in the right group of people.
that is not the way.
if Bumiputeras are to have special privileges in this country,
then why are there still so many Iban, Kadazan, Serani etc still living in bad conditions,
deprived from proper living condition, education and career options?
why are they still living in the jungle with limited to none access to the rest of our country?
aren't THEY the real Bumiputeras?
do all of them have ICs?
or have you already given them all out to the illegal foreigners?
.
fair is when the welfare of all groups of citizens (regardless of race and religion) are properly being taken care of.
fair is when every single person knows exactly what goes on behind the DUN and parliament buildings and every minister's office.
fair is when government servants treat every citizen the same way, work efficiently and honourably.
fair is when everything done is done for the people and the country's well being.
fair is when every single person in this country can put their palms on their chests and say "i am proud to be a Malaysian, this country is my home." without feeling a pinch of suspicion towards the government or their leaders.
.
fair, in this GE,
is carrying out your jobs as a polling agent and counting agent as a neutral officer,
unbiased to any contending party.
hand out the polling tickets, collect them well, count them efficiently and honestly, report the results truthfully.
it is your very job to ensure this election is clean.
fair is carrying out clean campaigns that benefits the citizens by helping them to understand the matters of the country better.
the citizen does not want your dirty money,
money you stole from them yourselves.
we would rather you lower the prices of national cars, petrol, houses, and tolls than to accept a mere few hundreds of our hard-earned money back.
provide free education for all, develop the rural areas in the country, help the poor instead.
and the citizens will thank you.
election campaigns are not supposed to be used to bribe and buy votes,
is this the first time you join politics?
is this your first time campaigning?
because you did an awful job in it.
fair is sending appropriate forces to protect all, both the public, and the EC officers.
not to protect the people you specifically assigned to protect.
policemen and army is to protect the country and its citizens.
not corrupt officers and fake ballots.
not shooting cans of tear gas into crowds, single out weak citizens and beat them up.
there are senior citizens and your children around,
what are you telling them by your actions?
that we can't rely and trust in our armed forces anymore?
.
every religion has taught us to work hard and be honest to our conscience,
only then we can live well, succeed and prosper.
what your God says, is what my Buddha says, and what his and her God(s) say.
does any God teach us to condemn other people who does not believe in your God?
i may not have learn about Quran,
i may not have mastered the learning of the sutta,
i've never read the Bible before,
but i am confident to tell you,
no God has ever preach false speech, thieving, violence and discrimination.
so why is there still a lot of people discriminating each other's races?
why is there fear in some groups of Malays when Chinese took over the governing positions?
13 May?
are you seriously that desperate that you would instill fear in your people's minds over something that has happened decades ago?
do you actually think that such damaging tragedy would happen to our country once more?
WAKE UP.
we have our families, our home, and our businesses here.
we ARE NOT from China, our ancestors are.
they can go back to China, if they were still alive today.
but me, my whole family, my friends and their families,
WE ARE BORN ON THIS LAND.
THIS COUNTRY.
every Monday morning during our schooling days were spent singing the national anthem of MALAYSIA, not China.
and we call ourselves MALAYSIANS.
Don't you ever forget, our Chinese politicians were involved in helping our country to gain its independence as well.
so no one is that stupid to start a riot and spill blood over our country,
ESPECIALLY CHINESE.
because, what for?
kill our source of living and ruin our properties?
you siao ah.
our children rely on our money to get quality education,
it's not like you would give us scholarships even if we deserve it.
13 May? leave it, keep it, lock it up in your safe-deposit boxes and bury them deep into the grounds.
it's never going to happen, not on our watch.
so don't brainwash our Malaysian citizens anymore with these medieval matters.
you know yourselves that it's not going to happen again.
.
you have another 5 years,
which indirectly means that WE have 5 years to further scrutinize your work.
you getting back the governing position only give us more time to find more evidences of your wrong doing.
and i thank you for that.
i thank you for waking me up to this terrible place that i'm living in,
i thank you for making me realize that i have the power to bring you down.
and i thank you in giving me the motivation to register as a voter.
i may not know everything you've done wrong to my country,
and i may not trust the opposition completely yet.
but at least i know i have been wronged by you, you party and your corrupt colleagues.
i know enough to make me stand against you and all your lies.
there is strength in numbers.
you lost the numbers last night.
